The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) Investigations Unit (IU) seeks an Abuse/Neglect Investigator to be domiciled in IU's Central Region - Jefferson City, Missouri. This job requires an eye for detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to analyze and interpret complex information. As part of our team, you will play a crucial role in the investigation process while contributing to the safety of individuals receiving Department of Mental Health services and the reasonable treatment of employees who provide those services.The base salary offered for this position is up to $52,200.00 annually, commensurate with education and experience. If the selected candidate is eligible for a pay differential, such as retention pay, the total salary may exceed what is listed in this posting.Hybrid/remote work options may be available after completion of a successful onboarding process and training.Conduct abuse/neglect investigations by initiating investigations in compliance with Department Operating Regulations; reviewing provider records and documentation; interviewing staff, individuals served by the department, and other persons involved in the alleged incident; and drafting investigative reports based on findings.Travel within the immediate catchment area of central Missouri and as needed to assist the eastern and western regions across the state. This may include some overnight travel.Hours are generally Monday-Friday, 8 AM-5 PM, but onsite and travel hours can vary depending on the availability of individuals to be interviewed and other factors.This is an intermediate, non-commissioned investigator position with opportunity for advancement.Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (Substitutions may be allowed.)Four to five years of investigative experience in the mental health field or related fields.Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis denying consideration to any applicant.The State of Missouri offers an excellent benefits package that includes a defined pension plan, generous amounts of leave and holiday time, and eligibility for health insurance coverage.
