This is a student intern position receiving training and mentoring in an assigned area of responsibility performing assignments that serve to offer practical experience and broad exposure to MWD’s organizational structure.
In this position, you’ll gain expert-level experience imaging and configuring the latest laptops and desktops, making sure every machine is primed for peak performance.
You’ll master the art of equipment decommissioning from salvaging high-value hardware to ensuring rock-solid security through professional hard drive removal.
What You'll Do - Gain hands-on experience imaging and configuring laptops and desktop computers.
- Develop foundational troubleshooting skills.
- Assist with inventory management and asset tracking processes.
- Learn proper procedures for equipment decommissioning.
- Support Client Support Team.
Schedule: (PART TIME - ONSITE) 44/36, Monday through Friday with every other Friday off.
No Hybrid Schedule . WORK SCHEDULE: • Full-time (during summer break) and/or Part-time (up to 18 hours per week)
• The estimated length of the assignment will range from three to twelve months. Dates are flexible.
• The length of the term will be determined based on the student's class schedule, availability, and employer needs.

Student Intern EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: Current enrollment in an accredited four-year college or university carrying a minimum of 12 semester units or 8 quarter units with junior or senior standing in a related major and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or current enrollment in an accredited graduate degree program in a related major with a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
Related major is defined as: Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS License(s): Valid California Class C Driver’s License or equivalent (required at time of application) that allows you to drive during your employment.
