The
County of Fresno General Services Department invites applications for the position of
Departmental Business Manager. The Departmental Business Manager is responsible for managing the business office functions of a County department. Responsibilities include budget preparation and control; accounting; billing and collection of fees; fiscal control of contracts; preparation of financial statements, statistical reports, and internal service fund rates; monitoring payroll transactions; and completing special projects. The incumbent also coordinates departmental business office functions with state, federal, and other County departments, and supervises related subordinate staff.

Experience : Four (4) years of full-time, paid professional financial work experience involving budgetary analysis and control, accounting, and business management functions, one (1) year of which must have been in a lead capacity over professional accounting staff.
License : Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, may be required.
Note : Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment.

SELECTION PROCESS: Pursuant to Fresno County Personnel Rule 4 - Selection Process, applicants may be required to complete an examination process, and successful candidates will be placed on an employment list effective for a minimum of 3 months and certified in final rank order as vacancies occur.
- Interviews will be conducted approximately two weeks following candidate certification to the hiring department.
Please Note: - T he eligible list for this recruitment may be extended up to 12 months and may be used to fill both extra-help and permanently allocated positions.
- Individuals selected for extra-help appointment may be transitioned to a permanently allocated position at a later date as authorized by the Fresno County Personnel Rules.
