The County of Fresno General Services Department invites applications for the position of Departmental Business Manager. The Departmental Business Manager is responsible for managing the business office functions of a County department. Responsibilities include budget preparation and control; accounting; billing and collection of fees; fiscal control of contracts; preparation of financial statements, statistical reports, and internal service fund rates; monitoring payroll transactions; and completing special projects. The incumbent also coordinates departmental business office functions with state, federal, and other County departments, and supervises related subordinate staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Education : Possession of a bachelor’s degree that is acceptable within the United States’ accredited college or university system in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or a closely related field.

Experience : Four (4) years of full-time, paid professional financial work experience involving budgetary analysis and control, accounting, and business management functions, one (1) year of which must have been in a lead capacity over professional accounting staff.

License : Possession of a valid Class “C” driver’s license, or equivalent, may be required.

Note : Incumbents may be required to obtain and maintain Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) clearance as a condition of employment.
