Latchkey Group Leader-Summer
Description
Overview The Latchkey Group Leader-Summer position assists with the development of the After Hour Kid Power Program Summer Camp. This position will supervise and provide leadership for children participating in the program. The incumbent will ensure a safe and caring environment that promotes positive child development.
Responsibilities • Addresses any concerns expressed by the participants
• Redirects children to limit any possible disciplinary issues
• Monitors participants throughout the day
• Follows the Minimal Standards policies
• Relieves Sr. Group leader in the classroom
• Assists Sr. Group leader during field trips
• Monitors larger groups of children during breakfast and lunch times
• Helps Sr. Group Leader with any tasks needed in preparing play areas for participants
• Sets up age-appropriate stations for participants
• Signs in all participants in their groups
• Ensures all participants wash their hands prior to snack time
• Organizes indoor arts, crafts, indoor and outdoor games, and activities for all participants
• Ensures first aid kit and watercooler are taken outside
• Confirms parents show proper ID when signing out participants
• Communicates with Sr. Group Leader, custodial, kitchen, and administrative staff in the event an issue arises
• Speaks daily with parents/guardian while providing excellent customer service
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work • Non-Exempt - Part-Time - Temp - 16 hours per week
• Must be available to work additional hours as needed
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
• In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services

Minimum Qualifications • High School Diploma/GED
• No prior experience required
Preferred Qualifications • Class C Driver's License
Licenses and Certifications Required• CPR/First Aid Certified
• Must be at least the age of 18 or older

Basis of Rating A recruitment consultant will evaluate all applications against the posted qualifications. The city may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview
