WORKDAYS & HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY, 8:00 A.M - 5:00 P.M, occasional weekend ***subject to change***

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Division Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for an assigned division. This role is responsible for directing daily operations, guiding and supervising team members, monitoring financial and resource utilization, establishing and communicating division priorities, and ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. The Division Manager serves as a key representative of the division and regularly engages with internal and external stakeholders, including delivering presentations and representing the division in public forums.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

WORKING CONDITIONS
The position is physically comfortable, the individual has discretion about walking, standing, etc. There are no major sources of discomfort, i.e., essentially normal office environment with acceptable lighting, temperature, and air conditions. Requires the ability to make simple gross motor responses within large tolerances.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering or a field closely related to activities of the division

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Seven years of progressive professional experience closely related to the activities of the division are required, with at least three of the years in a supervisory capacity. A Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration or a field closely related to the activities of the division may be substituted for two years of experience.

Directly related professional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
A valid Driver’s License and compliance with the City of Houston’s policy on driving (AP 2-2).

PREFERENCES

***Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6***

Experience with resource management, operational performance and analysis, and KPI development and tracking.

GENERAL INFORMATION

PAY GRADE: 29

Factors used in determining the salary offered include the candidate's qualifications as well as the pay rates of other employees in this classification.
