Job Description

Location: Warehouse

Salary: This position pays up to $61.00 per hour, based on education and experience.

Full Time /Part Time: Part Time

Work Schedule: As needed. No more than 999 hours per year.

Primary Hours: 10am-3pm

Position Description: The State Pharmacist is responsible for functioning as a repackage and wholesale distributor for OSDH Service Programs to supply county health departments and mobile units. The Pharmacy repackages medications into unit-of issue packaging and orders, receives, stores, tracks, and distributes pharmaceutical and medical supplies for 68 County Health Departments and two independent City County Health Departments. The pharmacist fills prescription orders from OSDH physicians for Direct Observation Therapy (DOT) to treat active or latent tuberculosis (TB) and provides consultation and formulary review for Service Programs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Requirements consist of possession of a valid license as a Pharmacist in the State of Oklahoma, graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Pharmaceutical Science or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, and experience equivalent to two years of full-time responsible work as a pharmacist

Preferred Qualifications - Basic knowledge of maintaining budgets and inventory control, state laws and regulations pertaining to legal operation of the pharmacy including storage, repackaging and shipping medications. Ability to learn and apply principles and practices of supervision, prioritize and evaluate the work of others, use effective communication skills to establish and maintain working with county health departments and other staff, maintain accurate records and documents, and maintain confidential information.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms; carry light items; drive an automobile. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Applicants must be willing to perform all job-related travel associated with this position. Occasionally, in state overnight and weekend travel may be required. Being present at the office is an essential function of the job
