A Graduate Engineer job is available with the City of Fort Worth Water Department Infrastructure Services Division in our Capital Delivery Section. You will be responsible for performing civil engineering duties supporting the design of water and wastewater projects.

Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or other engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications: - Proficient skills using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Exceptional customer service, time management, communication, and writing skills are essential to address a high volume of telephone, email, and walk-in public inquiries
The Capital Delivery Graduate Engineer job responsibilities include: - Coordinating various city engineering projects.
- Inspection / contract administration of water and sanitary sewer projects.
- Preparing, reviewing, and evaluating construction bids, cost estimates, and change orders.
- Addressing a high volume of phone, email, public and internal inquires.
- Performing research and solving engineering problems.
- Providing assistance to construction inspectors in the interpretation of plans and resolving problems during construction; and reviewing as built plans to endure compliance with original plans and specifications.
- Conducting field inspections to ensure construction plans and specifications are accurate
- Working under the direction of a Senior Professional Engineer
Working Conditions Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Physical demands Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects
