If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program , you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.

Duties, Functions and Responsibilities
Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

Coordinates and represents Austin Water interests in various high profile program areas and projects, which may include determining and assessing overall program goals, objectives, resources requirements, and ensuring alignment with Utility goals, Land Development Code, Plumbing Code, criteria manuals, and standard details and specifications. Coordinates with internal, external, inter-departmental, and multi-agency stakeholders to address design constraints from project inception to post design. This includes site and subdivision plans and capital improvement projects contained within program areas. Assists with conflict resolution and project timelines sequencing to avoid significant cost overages for infrastructure projects, which may include scheduling and coordination of projects such as water or wastewater lines installed prior to street construction to optimize time and money and enhance public perception. Coordinates land development reviews to ensure compliance with Federal, State and City codes and regulations and coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with other City departments and external agencies to ensure review consistency across all disciplines. Establishes program standards, methods, policies, and procedures for individual programs. Develops and implements process improvements and prepares modifications to address evolving requirements of the Land Development Code and Utility Criteria Manual relative to individual programs. Provides technical advice, assistance, guidance, and training to internal staff, external agencies, citizens, customers, department executives, commissioners and council members as relevant. Researches, reviews, and communicates findings on legal documents to include easements, plats, deeds, and land status determination letters. Represents the interests of Austin Water at various inter-departmental, multi-agency, boards, commissions, and citizen meetings. Makes informative presentations to management, councils, and commissions and the general public. Researches and implements best practices from other jurisdictions to improve safety, efficiency, and customer service.
