LEGAL COUNSEL - BANKRUPTCY
DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE
Location: Jefferson City, Missouri
Salary: $67,080
(Pay may be adjusted based on qualifications and experience)

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
The General Counsel’s Office of the Department of Revenue has an opportunity for a licensed attorney to represent the department in its creditor bankruptcy practice. This position provides substantial training and mentorship and affords the opportunity for advancement and professional career development. Opportunities for a flexible schedule are available. The Missouri Department of Revenue is a Public Service Loan Forgiveness qualifying employer.
DUTIES PERFORMED TO SUPPORT THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION:
Independently manage a diverse bankruptcy caseload
Negotiate and resolve case matters
Research issues
Review and file federal court pleadings
Participate in hearings
Provide counsel to internal personnel
Coordinate with bankruptcy attorneys and staff
QUALIFICATIONS:
Desire and ability to learn bankruptcy law
Ability to exercise critical reasoning skills
Ability to effectively work and communicate with coworkers, attorneys, and the courts
A bility to work independently
Missouri Bar license in good standing or eligible to become a member
