Description:The
Community Engagement Coordinator is responsible for implementing a comprehensive community engagement strategy for the airport, with a particular focus on building relationships with airport, community, regional, and national stakeholders and neighboring community residents. This position will work closely with airport staff to assist in the overall coordination of services and opportunities to ensure adherence to the airport mission and values of authentic and transparent engagement, building community, equitable practices that engage airport stakeholders and build the relationships that promote equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Schedule :
This position works best in-person and on-site, keeping a a 4 - day, 10-hour workweek . This position must be available to work events during off-hours when needed. After a training period of 6-months, there may be an opportunity to work remotely one day per week with approval from your manager.
Compensation :
Hiring Range: $65,000 - $75,000 USD Annual Compensation will be determined based on education, experience, and skills.

Essential Duties: - This position works closely with airport staff to collectively build and strengthen the airports brand, recognition and relationships with community partners and airport stakeholders.
- Responsible for gathering social media content & posting to social media sites and airport website following calendars and strategy set by the Public Affairs and Communication Specialist and Strategic Communications Plan.
- Responsible for development of social media calendars, alongside and with the support of the Public Affairs and Communication Specialist.
- Responsible for planning, developing and executing community events, alongside and with the support of Public Affairs and Communication Specialist.
- Responsible for implementing communications strategy set by Public Affairs and Communication Specialist.
- Responsible for attending community meetings as appropriate .
- Responsible for collecting, analyzing and maintaining data to evaluate the effectiveness of engagement initiatives and inform future program development.
- Responsible for maintaining relationships with community leaders, residents and other key stakeholders through contact lists, social media engagement and public meetings/events.
- Responsible for providing assistance , input and information regarding engagement efforts on digital platforms and in-person.
- Responsible for coordinating formal gathering of community input and individual feedback for developing, implementing, evaluating, and improving policies, programs, and services, ensuring that barriers to participation for culturally and economically diverse communities are identified and removed.
- Responsible for providing support for projects by coordinating with and supporting colleagues as needed or requested .
- Responsible for other duties as assigned.

Minimal Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications , Journalism, Public Relations,
- Plus, a minimum of three years of work-related experience which may include conducting community assessments, collaborating with partners to engage a targeted audience, and/or experience with community engagement models ;
- Or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Five years’ work-related experience conducting community relations and collaborating with partners to engage a targeted audience.
- Knowledge of and experience working within Jefferson County’s neighborhoods and community groups.
- Experience in marketing and/or communications.
- Experience and comfort engaging community members in various formats, including one on one, small groups, and public settings.
- Ability to articulate clearly and effectively to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds in a variety of professional to informal settings.
- Five years’ work-related experience conducting community relations and collaborating with partners to engage a targeted audience.
- Knowledge of video and photography editing software.
- Knowledge of and experience working within Jefferson County’s neighborhoods and community groups .
- Experience in marketing and/or communications .
- Experience and comfort engaging community members in various formats, including one on one, small groups, and public settings.
- Ability to articulate clearly and effectively to stakeholders with diverse backgrounds in a variety of professional to informal settings.
- Experience with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365.
