Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create a consideration for hire list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Works Student Intern (Part-Time) in the Department of Public Works. This recruitment is specifically for Field Survey and the consideration for hire list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.
Under direct supervision, performs work of routine difficulty designed to provide hands on learning experience related to the Engineering, GIS, or Facilities Design and Construction Divisions of the City's Public Works Department; and performs related duties as assigned.
Additional Position Information:

• This is a part-time, non-PERS eligible, position.
• This position will work, on average, no more than 19 hours per week.
• This part-time position does not qualify for medical benefits or union representation.
• May be required to work a flexible work schedule on any day Monday through Thursday.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent
• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student in an accredited college or university program with a major in engineering, construction management, architecture, GIS or a closely related field
• Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483
• Desirable: Experience with AutoCAD and/or GIS Software
