Description
DescriptionUnder direct supervision, orders, receives, stores, and issues a variety of parts, equipment, materials, and supplies; and performs other work as required.
Representative DutiesThe following typical tasks and responsibilities are representative of this class. They are descriptive, not limiting.
Essential Duties: Orders, receives, stores, and issues a variety of parts, equipment, materials, and supplies; Issues substitute parts on the basis of knowledge of interchangeability of parts; Operates a vehicle and forklift to pick-up, deliver, load, and unload parts, equipment, materials, and supplies; Performs inventories to ensure adequate levels of stock are available and advises superiors regarding need for purchases; Checks and prepares reports of materials received; Maintains stock records and prepares inventory reports; Reorders stock as necessary based on acceptable usage levels to ensure reasonable on-hand stock and to avoid over stocking; Properly maintains parts, equipment, materials, and supplies in storage status.

Minimum QualificationsApplications will be accepted

- Graduated from high school or GED program; AND
- One (1) year of experience with computerized inventory including the procurement, storage, recording, and issuing of parts, equipment, materials, and supplies related to Fleet Services.
- Possession of a valid Class "C" California driver's license.
Highly Desirable - Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Adobe software

- Customer Service
Physical Conditions or Special Working Conditions: - Standard office environment and working conditions
- Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and in a maintenance environment
Examination (Weighted: 100%) March 13, 2025 (Tentative) An appraisal will be made of the applicant's experience, education, training, certification, knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal qualifications for the position. A minimum passing score of 70% is required.

VACATION: Accrual rate is determined by bargaining unit.
1-4 years of service: 10 days per year.
5-13 years of service: 15 days per year.
14+ years of service: 20 days per year.
VACATION - FIRE SAFETY SHIFT PERSONNEL ONLY:
1-4 years of service: 4.68 (24-hr. duty shifts)
5-15 years of service: 7.02 (24-hr. duty shifts)
16+ years of service: 9.36 (24-hr. duty shifts)
HOLIDAYS: 13 paid holidays per year.
SICK LEAVE: Earned at the rate of one working day per month of service to a maximum of 120 days; portions therafter may be convertible.
ADMINISTRATIVE LEAVE: 10 days per year for General Supervisory and Management employees.

RETIREMENT: Benefits are provided by the City's participation in the Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS). 2% @ 62 for new hire Miscellaneous and 2.7% @ 57 for Safety (Fire & Police). Visit the City's Retirement websitefor additional information.
