Job Announcement The City of Chandler Police Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as a
Police Lieutenant. This is a regular full-time position with benefits. This position is open to experienced Police Lieutenants and above (i.e., Captain, Major, Commander, Deputy Chief, etc.) currently serving law enforcement agencies with 100 or more sworn personnel. The work schedule for this position is varied and may include day, middle, and nighttime work hours. The position is subject to a twelve (12) month probationary period.

Who we are The City of Chandler Police Department, consisting of 348 sworn officers and 191 civilians, serves a growing population of close to 289,249 residents. The organization is divided into three main divisions, several sections, and many units. The Patrol Operations Division consisting of three precincts, 1) Main Station - Downtown & North Chandler, 2) Desert Breeze - West Chandler, and 3) Chandler Heights - South Chandler, work in concert with the Criminal Investigations Division, Operational Support Division, and Professional Services Division to meet the needs of the community. Who we are looking for Our ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are looking for an individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. The primary function of an employee in this class is to plan, supervise and review the activities of all personnel assigned to a section of the Police Department. This position is responsible for the administration of a functional section or acts as duty commander of the Police Department. An employee in this class performs the duties of other employees in the Public Safety Department as required or as assigned by supervisory personnel. Employees may be delegated assignments in specialized areas such as field operations, neighborhood services, criminal investigations, professional standards, administration, or other assignment.

Minimum qualifications - A Bachelor's Degree in a related field; and,
- Must possess at least 2-year's of experience at the rank of Police Lieutenant and above (i.e., Captain, Major, Commander, Deputy Chief, etc.) currently serving law enforcement agencies with 100 or more sworn personnel.
- Must possess an AZPOST Certification; and
- Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License with acceptable driving record
Supervision Work is performed under the direct supervision of a Division Commander. This position exercises supervision over Police Sergeants, Police Officers and other non-sworn support personnel.

The City of Chandler will conduct a pre-employment background check, polygraph, and drug screen as a condition of employment. An offer of employment is contingent upon acceptable results.
