Lead Customer Service Representative (Supervisory) (Position #5332-5022082) Department of Revenue - Business Tax Bureau- Sales/Use Tax Refunds & Exemptions Semi-Monthly Salary: $1,694.20
Annual Salary: $ 40,660.80
Location: 301 W. High Street, Jefferson City, MO

HOW THIS POSITION SUPPORTS THE DEPARTMENT’S VISION: If you want to serve your public by overseeing the return of money rightfully owed to the people of Missouri, this position is the one for you. In this supervisory role, you will be primarily responsible for providing support to team members that work to issue refunds of overpaid sales and use tax to businesses and owners, as well as those who manage applications and inquiries regarding tax exemption and nonprofit organizations.
RESPONSIBILITES - WHAT YOU’LL DO: This description may not include all the duties, knowledge, skills, or abilities associated with this title.
• Oversee the processing of sales and use tax refund claims.
• Supervise, coach, and obtain feedback from team members to improve processes.
• Establish and maintain positive working relationships by demonstrating maturity, accountability, and a focus on team achievement.
• Communicate professionally with all internal and external customers by telephone, email, letter, and in person.
• Review and generate employee production reports to ensure help team members meet their full potential.
• Monitor workflow and adjust priorities based on backlogs.
• Train new team members and cross-train current team members.
• Conduct monthly team member performance meetings and evaluations.
• Perform other related work or special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: • Possess a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency (GED).
• Four or more years of experience in collections, tax preparation, tax processing, accounting, bookkeeping, auditing, or closely related work. (Substitutions may be allowed).
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
