South Adams County Water & Sanitationis dedicated to providing reliable, affordable, and sustainable water resources and services in order to protect public health, the environment, and quality of life.We are seeking an individual to join the water resources team as a Water Resources Specialist, to aid in the operation of the district’s water resources, sustainability and conservation.
The Water Resources Specialist duties include:
- Provides support to the administration and operation of the raw water/water resources program.
- Coordinates, plans, documents and communicates with water rights administrators and ditch riders.
- Monitors and maintains the district’s augmentation stations data recording equipment, head gates and measuring structures to ensure accurate data is available for the augmentation accounting.
- Adjusts and controls the flow through augmentation structures, following the district’s augmentation plan.
- Assists in monthly accounting and data analysis related to water resources.
- Assists in water conservation and drought enforcement programs.
- Assists in creating and implementing a broad base sustainability plan.
- Acts as a resource for the District, assisting and encouraging a sustainability-focused culture.
- Assists as a resource for the District, assisting with the District’s 5 year strategic plan.
Qualified candidates should have a bachelor’s degree with coarse work in environmental science, water resource management, hydrology or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience. A valid, current Colorado Driver’s License is required.
A minimum of one year water resources, water operations, environmental programs or similar industry related experience.
Strong technical and mathematical aptitude, with troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Must be detail oriented, with effective organizational, communication and administrative skills, including MS Office.Self-starter, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment is necessary.
Successful candidates will be required to complete a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

Salary range:$24.81 - 37.52/hr based on qualifications and experience
