Description
Position Description: Duties: - Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance.
- Promotes and maintains positive and effective working relationships and promotes good public relationships as a representative of Licking County Government.
- Performs a variety of administrative support functions to ensure efficient operation of department; verifies, researches, compiles, and analyzes information and prepares reports and/or recommendations; prepares and maintains various statistical and database reports; furnishes technical information and advice to assist in decision making.
- Assists thegeneral public on issues relating to official business. Responds to various departments and public inquiries by providing information and direction.
- Communicates with elected officials, department heads, staff and political subdivisions to ensure effective exchange of information.
- Assists the Deputy Clerk Budget/Finance in developing and managing the budget for the Commissioner’s Office. Recommends contracts/agreements to the Board of County Commissioners. Oversees the operation of various purchasing functions.
- Responsible for administration of department’s record retention policy.
- Assists and prepares administrative information on matters to be resolved by County Commissioners, maintaining records and assisting public, prepares and searches files for resolutions, correspondence, contracts, etc.
- Reviews and processes contracts as needed.
- Develops and administers policies and procedures to comply with standards as requested or when administratively needed.
- Prepares and processes bids and necessary documents, correspondence, advertisements, public information documents, inventory, press releases.
- Attends and takes minutes of Board meetings as requested.
- Coordinates special projects; including the Commissioner’s Annual Report and creates brochures for special events.
- Provides departmental back up as needed and acts in an administrative capacity.
- Meets all job safety requirements and all applicable PERRP safety standards that pertain to the essential functions of the position and all agency safety procedures.
- Remains informed of current developments and procedures pertinent to duties (i.e., ORC, proposed House and Senate Bill, new or proposed legislation both State and Federal); may be required to attend seminars/training.
Brief Description: Provides administrative support to the Board of Commissioners and the County Administrator within the guidelines of the Ohio Revised Code and State and Federal mandates. Identifies areas of improvement and recommends changes to the County Administrator and Board of County Commissioners.
Job Prerequisites: Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; and two (2) to four (4) years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Qualifications (Agency/Dept. Qualifications):Must possess excellent integrity, teamwork and project management skills.

Compensation: Salary: $52,000 to $58,000 annually
