The position involves supervision of staff and youth committed to the custody of the Missouri Division of Youth Services with the Department of Social Services. This is an administrative position in a treatment facility supervising employees, activities, administering case plans, and more.
The following tasks are the responsibility of the Youth Services Manager (Youth Facility Manager I):
- Directs and manages the operation of a day treatment or small residential treatment program.
- Plans, implements, supervises, and evaluates the details of a group treatment program and the provision of individualized services for youth; provides training to staff.
- Prepares reports on the progress of youth; prepares reports and documentation relating to staff.
- Initiates purchase requests; receives supplies and equipment; and maintains related fiscal and inventory control records.
- Maintains personnel and budgetary records for the facility, including personal accounts for assigned youth.
- Develops and promotes community relations with schools, churches, public and/or private social services agencies, and other groups.
- Supervises the planning of menus and food services.
- Maintains the physical facility and equipment; assumes responsibility for relationship with lessor of facility property.
- Assists in overseeing outdoor and other activities.
- Receives supervision from an administrative supervisor; exercise considerable judgment, discretion, and initiative in the performance of duties within the established policies and procedures.
One or more years of experience as a Youth Services Supervisor (Youth Group Leader) or Youth Services Specialist (Service Coordinator of Youth Services) with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency, and a valid vehicle operator’s license.
OR Three or more years of professional experience in the treatment of juveniles as an Education Specialist, School Counselor, Youth Services Specialist (Outdoor Rehabilitation Counselor or Recreation Officer), Youth Services Coordinator (Regional Family Specialist), Registered Nurse, Substance Abuse Counselor, Vocational Education Instructor, Youth Services Worker (Youth Specialist II), and/or related higher level position with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency, and a valid vehicle operator’s license.
OR A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 15 earned credit hours in one or a combination of the following: Counseling, Criminal Justice, Education, Psychology, Sociology, or Social Work;
and One or more years of professional experience in the treatment of juveniles, which includes the supervision of staff and youth and responsibility for providing group and individual counseling and related treatment services.
(Professional experience in the treatment of juveniles which includes group or individual counseling techniques may substitute on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the required degree.)

Special Requirement: Possession of a valid vehicle operator’s license.

Salary:
$58,004.64 per Year
