Wake County is excited to offer an incredible opportunity as a Housing Diversion Specialist-make a difference in your community today!

The Housing Diversion Specialist is responsible for identifying and transitioning guests into a full range of permanent housing opportunities, including individual apartments and shared housing. The Housing navigator will be based at the South Wilmington Street Center but may also conduct outreach activities to connect with local landlords. The Housing Diversion Specialist will work as a lead for a case management team that works closely with landlords to identify units.

The Housing Diversion Specialist provides guidance and support to guests and staff in searching for and securing housing by utilizing their housing stabilization plan and personal goals. You will assist clients with housing applications, complete supportive and subsidized housing paperwork, survey rental market for affordable housing and advocate for clients with prospective landlords. You will also support participants in creation and evaluation of safety plans, provide education on their rights, and connect them to community services and resources.

Emergency Service Worker Statement
