Annual Salary Range: $102,263 - $136,352

FLSA Exempt / Union Represented

This position allows for up to four days of remote work per week

About the Office

The JNE Commission is a State Bar subentity that evaluates all candidates who are under consideration for a judicial appointment by the Governor. The 38-member commission is made up of a broad cross-section of California's diverse legal profession and general population, and includes attorneys, nonattorneys, and former judicial officers. The JNE Commission meets six times a year, in-person.

About the Position

The Office of Access & Inclusion seeks a highly organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Senior Program Analyst to support the work of the Commission on Judicial Nominees Evaluation (JNE). The candidate will onboard and offboard members; attend and support JNE meetings; handle the editing process for reports during the 90-day JNE cycle; oversee the cycles for the Review Committee (RJNE) and the Commission on Judicial Appointments (COJA); and complete all other duties assigned including special projects. Experience in drafting, editing, proofreading, and reviewing documents for accuracy and clarity is recommended as the position requires creating and maintaining important documents and reports for JNE. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint is required. This position will require travel to attend some in-person JNE meetings.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; clear and concise written and verbal communication skills; and attention to detail and analytical skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team is essential. The JNE team values people who can effectively communicate ideas and recommendations. The candidate should be comfortable working with external stakeholders, senior-level executives, and other State Bar offices.

Under general direction, the Senior Program Analyst conducts professional-level analysis and administers programs and/or functions; performs specialty assignments and acts in a lead capacity with respect to lower-level professional and support staff; and performs related work as required.

Distinguishing Characteristics

The Senior Program Analyst is the lead/advanced journey-level professional class performing advanced, specialized work of a professional nature, utilizing skills that require technical expertise and an understanding of complex analytical procedures and program processes. Incumbents exercise a high degree of professional judgment with considerable independence. This class may function as the lead over professional, technical, and/or administrative support personnel on an ongoing or project basis. Responsibilities include project planning and the performance of high-level professional analyses and services in the division/unit to which they are assigned.
