Facility Supervisor-Athletics - Part-Time
Description
Job Summary: Assists with the coordination and supervision of adult and youth athletic programs. This position will perform the duties of a facility supervisor at City fields, gyms, and facilities. The days of work and hours will vary with each program. Requires evening and weekend shifts.
The salary range for this position is
$17.08- $18.50 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Position will remain open until filled.
Essential Functions: Adult: - Perform opening and closing duties for gates and doors, rest rooms, scorekeeper booth, maintenance garage and office, and other facilities.
- Assess weather and make closing decision and communications if unsafe to play.
- Perform delegated administrative work.
- Monitor and enforce crowd and team control.
- Enforce policies of the facility.
- Treat minor injuries through proper knowledge of first aid and safety techniques.
- Complete periodic custodial duties including cleanup of rest rooms and other areas.
- Assist with on-site concession supervision if needed.
- Work closely and in collaboration with umpires/referees.
- Effectively monitor fields and facilities.
- Walk from location to location.
- Must respond quickly and correctly in emergency situations and exercise sound judgment in resolving conflicts.
Youth: - Provides on-site supervision of classes, practices and games.
- Performs opening gates and doors, rest rooms, maintenance garage and office, and other facilities.
- Assists in recruitment, and training of coaches.
- Assists with clinics and coach meetings.
- Completes inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Prepares athletic fields and playing areas.
- Assists in the office as needed with phone calls and administrative tasks.
- Makes closing decisions if weather dictates unsafe play.
- Performs crowd and team control.
- Enforces policies of the facility

- Closes facility at the end of play.
- Works closely with referees.
Other Job Functions: - Direct supervision of volunteers, program participants and facility use.
- May assist with special events.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Education: - High School graduate or GED required.
Experience: - Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
- 1 year course work in recreation, education or related field, related coach training, officiating or previous participation required.
- Knowledge of a variety of sports preferred.
Certifications: - Certification in First Aid and C.P.R. is required or must obtain within 60 days of hire date.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Adult: - Strong customer service skills.
- Must communicate effectively and diplomatically with co-workers, facility maintenance personnel, spectators, and players.
- Must handle difficult situations involving players and spectators.
- Work with the public.
- Follow both oral and written instructions.
Youth: - Strong customer service skills required, communicate effectively and diplomatically.

- Make sound judgments, exercise conflict resolution, and exhibit patience when dealing with stressful situations.
- Effectively monitor fields and facilities; observe program play and spectator behavior.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions: - Frequent l ight to moderate physical effort that includes frequent standing or walking or maintaining arms and hands in the same position for repetitive tasks. Frequently works with light objects and light hand tools.
- Frequent e xposure to heat and noise along with working outside in the elements.
- Occasional exposure to hazards that are predictable or well protected against.
