Position DescriptionContributes to the university's mission through teaching, research and service, some variation by academic unit.
Major/Essential FunctionsThe Department of Family Medicine provides high quality health care and educational experiences. Working as a team of healthcare providers and educators, we advance a unique model of patient care characterized by Comprehensive and integrated care of the whole person over time, tailored to the individual's values and choices; Care of all ages, socio-economic statuses, ethnicities, health statuses, and genders; Wellness and prevention; and Relationships and collaborations based on active and open communication and trust.
Major/Essential Functions
- Hospital clinical preceptorship of resident physicians
- Hospital rounding coverage 6 weeks per year
- Participation in resident and student education in hospital service rotations
Occasional Duties
Required QualificationsAcademic degree as defined by the academic unit and as appropriate for the position held. Demonstrated record of effectiveness as a teacher, a record of peer reviewed publication and/or peer-reviewed creative activity which has contributed to the discipline or field of study, to the candidate's intellectual and artistic development, and to the quality of the academic enterprise; a record of professional service appropriate to the discipline; promise of growth in teaching and research or artistic and creative activityRequired Qualifications:
- MD/DO/MBBS
- Completion of a Family Medicine Residency
- Board Certified in Family Medicine
