District Attorney Legal Intern Spring or Fall 2025
Description
OverviewThe District Attorney's Office seeks law students interested in a paid internship with our office.
Only individuals currently in law school will be considered. As interns, students will draft motions, research, and assist during trials (as appropriate). Internships are available at our Loveland and Fort Collins locations at the County and District Court levels. We anticipate hiring 1 for the Spring semester and 3 for the Fall of 2025. Please indicate on a cover letter for which semester(s) you would like to be considered.

Our paid internships are for those not yet eligible for student practice (less than 60 hours) and those who are eligible (more than 60 hours). Pay will depend on which category an applicant qualifies for. We expect interns to work 10 hours during the school year and up to 40 during the summer, but we can be flexible. We are flexible around class schedules during the school year but will need interns to work during the 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Monday- Friday work window. An intern may work up to 20 hours per week in the spring and fall.
ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll be doing:
- Assisting attorneys in assigned courtrooms or units with various tasks.
- Working closely with Deputy District Attorneys to gain hands-on experience.
- Observing and learning the role of a practicing prosecutor.

- Familiarity with common legal research techniques.
QualificationsAll candidates will be screened for the following required minimum qualifications. Any candidate who does not meet all of the qualifications listed as required will be eliminated from the process.
