Position Summary:Coordinates patient flow through the department, prioritize and assign exams to other technologists, imaging, and provide diagnostic imaging exams of patients for use by physicians in the development of diagnoses and treatment plans.

Job Requirement

Education/Experience:

Successful completion of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology Program and two (2) years of journey-level experience as a Specialty Imaging Technologist.

Licensing/Certification Requirements:

State of Nevada License in Radiology. Valid American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) Certification in Radiography. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. State of Nevada License in Mammography and ARRT Certification in Mammography; OR AART Certification in a specialty area such as Computed Tomography, Angio, etc.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Physical Requirements

Knowledge of:
Quality assurance and quality control standards; personal computers; staff scheduling and work flow analysis; anatomy and physiology of the human body; procedures and protocols associated with area of assignment; specialized equipment used in area of assignment; venipuncture techniques; department and hospital safety practices and procedures; infection control policies and practices; patient rights; age specific patient care practices; handling, storage, use and disposal of hazardous materials; department and hospital emergency response policies and procedures.

Skill in:
Coordinating staff schedules to cover work flow; evaluating quality control; assigning and monitoring the work of others; preparing reports; utilizing computers and specialized application software for scanning and diagnostic evaluation; utilizing specialized equipment and techniques for diagnostic evaluation; applying aseptic principles; communicating with a wide variety of people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all personnel contacted in the course of duties; efficient, effective and safe use of equipment.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Mobility to work in a typical clinical setting and use standard equipment, vision to read printed materials and VDT screens, stamina to remain standing and/or walk for extended periods of time; hearing and speech to communicate effectively in-person and over the telephone. Strength and agility to exert up to 100 pound of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pound of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
