Job Summary/ Objective:
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor, Beach Manager and Head Lifeguard, the Lifeguard provides supervision of water, beach, beach areas, and assists the Head Lifeguard in the operation of beach areas.

Remote Work:
This position is not eligible for remote work. All County staff must maintain residence within the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Deadline to Apply: Position open until filled.

Salary:
$16.50 for new lifeguards
$17.00 for returning second year lifeguard.
$17.50 for returning third or more years lifeguard.
This is a part time, temporary, FLSA non-exempt position. Internal candidates will receive pay adjustments in accordance with Local Government Personnel Policy, §P-60.

Sign-On Incentive:
You will receive a $250.00 sign-on incentive if you are onboarded and work at least one (1) day by June 9 th . This will be paid on the following paycheck after June 9 th .
You will receive another $250.00 if you work an average of 30 hours a week for 5 out of 9 open swim season weeks. This will be paid on the following paycheck after Labor Day.

Length of Employment: May 17 - Labor Day
