Youth Ambassadors (Interns)
Description
Position open until filled General Description and Classification Standards Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific assignments. This title is typically assigned to someone attending high school or college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a specific function in municipal government. This stipend position will report to the Senior Policy Advisor for Youth Development and Education.
Supervision Received Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities These are typical responsibilities for this position and should not be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. May perform other duties as assigned. Performs various and diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific department and job assignment. This title is typically assigned to someone attending high school or college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of service leadership and community engagement.
Selected candidates will engage in field experiences, special projects, on-the-job training, career mentorship, content creation and designing and executing community service projects. They may prepare presentations for staff members and attend project team meetings, virtual and in-person. May do filing, answer phone and other clerical duties in addition to administrative/project assignments.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities This is a partial listing of necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job successfully. It is not an exhaustive list. Ability to quickly assimilate new information into a work process to achieve the desired objective outcome. Ability to independently collect information needed and transpose into finished product.
Enrolled in high school or college. Interested in pursuing a career in civics, government, education, fine arts, performing arts or related disciplines.
Preferred Education & Experience Currently enrolled in high school or college with a deep interest in civics, government, education, fine arts, performing arts or related disciplines.
