Job Summary

Greenville Fire/Rescue is seeking an experienced professional to serve as a Part-time Paramedic for our department. This position will provide supervision of basic and advanced life support procedures relevant to pre-hospital emergency care on peak-time EMS units.

Join the 170 professionals committed to serving the diverse needs of our community through high-quality responses to a full range of emergency services, outreach, and prevention programs. We have 7 stations city-wide and hold the Commission on Fire Accreditation International.

Part-Time Paramedics will work 10-hour shifts on weekdays to staff peak-time EMS units, on an as-needed basis. Occasional weekend or evening hours for special events may be possible as well.

Examples of Duties



Minimum Qualifications

Education and Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required; and
•One year as a functioning field paramedic.

Required Certifications:
• North Carolina state certified Paramedic or ability to obtain by reciprocity.

Preferred Completed Training:
• NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800

Additional Requirements:
All applicants must:
• Be at least 18 years of age;
• Have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record;
• Be a United States citizen or a non-citizen who can provide proof of identity and authorization to work in the United States;
• Be of good moral character;
• Possess the mental, physical, and medical health to perform the duties of a Paramedic;
• Be highly motivated with an interest in the emergency services field.

Regular part-time, temporary, and seasonal employees are not eligible for benefits.
