The Manager I/II will bring together BHRS, community partners, individuals, and families to strengthen prevention efforts, expand community supports, improve access to resources, and help people connect with the services they need.

The Manager I/II will lead BHRS’ SUD primary prevention portfolio, including opioid and overdose prevention, public awareness and education, community outreach, youth and school engagement, and health care provider education. The position will also provide management support for the Stanislaus County Opioid Safety Coalition and Suicide Prevention Collaborative, helping partners establish shared priorities, coordinate activities, and assess progress. In collaboration with community partners, the Manager will support community awareness events, including 5K walk/run events that promote prevention, wellness, and connection.

A central focus of this role is strengthening the community’s capacity to support prevention and well-being. This includes engaging residents and community leaders, supporting local networks, and equipping partners with information and resources to recognize emerging needs and connect individuals and families with appropriate support. The Manager will help ensure these efforts reflect the cultural, linguistic, and geographic diversity of the communities BHRS serves.

The Manager will oversee applicable Substance Use Block Grant-funded primary prevention activities to ensure alignment with federal and state requirements, evidence-based prevention practices, and required prevention strategies. Working across organizational and system boundaries, the Manager I/II will strengthen partnerships among community-based organizations, schools, health care providers, public agencies, managed care plans, public safety, individuals, and families. The position will use data and community input to identify priorities, develop responsive strategies, evaluate outcomes, and strengthen connections between communities and the behavioral health system.

Success in this role requires the ability to convene and support multisector coalitions, bring diverse partners together around shared goals, navigate program and funding requirements, and translate community needs into practical action and measurable results.
