Job Duties
Specific duties include:
- Provides executive-level leadership and serves as the principal advisor to VBA senior leaders on program integrity, internal controls, organizational analysis, and enterprise oversight.
- Exercises decision-making authority over PIICs operations, establishing the office's strategic vision, priorities, and direction, and ensuring effective, efficient mission execution.
- Oversees the development, integration, and monitoring of VBA's internal control systems, ensuring accountability, compliance with Federal requirements, and identification of risks impacting Veterans' benefits and programs.
- Directs comprehensive analytical work, including comparative studies, statistical modeling, forecasting, and performance measurement, to identify complex issues and recommend improvements across VBA business lines.
- Serves as VBA's primary liaison to the Office of Inspector General, Government Accountability Office, and other oversight entities, coordinating audits, reviews, reports, and enterprise-wide responses while ensuring timely, accurate communication with leadership.
- Reviews, manages, and safeguards sensitive, confidential, and pre-decisional information, ensuring appropriate handling, quality control, and accountability for oversight-related documentation.
- Leads high-priority, complex special projects involving research, issue identification, and development of management solutions, new program objectives, and operational improvements.
- Evaluates enterprise operations, processes, and initiatives to embed program integrity measures, anticipate data and information needs, and promote continuous process, quality, and performance improvements.
- Develops and manages short- and long-range resource plans, workload strategies, controls, and procedures to ensure effective enterprise oversight, risk management, and adherence to established schedules.
- Performs full supervisory responsibilities, including performance management, staffing, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, employee development, position management, and promoting an inclusive and equitable workplace.

Full time, Monday through Friday 8am - 4:30pm
Telework
This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval. Routine or recurring telework is not authorized for this position
Relocation/Recruitment Incentives
Authorized. Relocation expenses and services (Permanent Change of Station - PCS) may be authorized. PCS covers the relocation of a household for government convenience when transferring between duty stations. By accepting PCS, the selectee agrees to remain in Federal service for 12 months after the move. Failure to complete the service period may require repayment of PCS expenses.
