Job AnnouncementThe City of Chandler Management Services Department is currently seeking qualified individuals interested in joining our team as an Environmental Services Senior Technician. The position is scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. A flexible scheduled may be discussed upon successful completion of probation.
Current City of Chandler employees may only hold one position and are not eligible for additional part-time or secondary positions within the City of Chandler.

Who we are
The Environmental Management Division provides environmental (air, water, stormwater and waste) compliance guidance and oversight to City operations and facilities. This includes management of the City’s Municipal Separate Storm Sewer Permit, review environmental due diligence for property acquisitions, maintain central environmental compliance files, and manage clean-up activities when environmental spills occur on City property and report to the proper regulatory agency.
Who we are looking for
Our new team member will have a passion for customer service, teamwork, and collaboration. We are seeking someone to perform a variety of skilled technical duties in support of environmental compliance for City operations, including assistance during emergency response, sampling, monitoring and assisting with program development.

Minimum qualifications
• A High School Diploma or GED supplemented by 1 year of college or technical training; and
• 3 years of experience in environmental and/or compliance related programs including public contact and enforcement functions; and
• A valid Driver's License with a acceptable driving record; and
• 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; and
• Asbestos Inspector and Asbestos Manager Planner Certification within 6 months of hire or promotion; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
Desired qualifications
• Stormwater permit implementation in an MS4 environment, including monitoring, evaluating, and inspecting best management practices.
• Experience in air quality and hazardous materials/wastes.
• Resource Conservation Recovery Act (RCRA) Training.
This is a regular full-time position, subject to a 6-month probationary period. A register of qualified candidates will be active for 4 months should another position become available.
