This position supports the safeguarding of the hospital by protecting property, responding to alarms, and assisting with daily security routines. You monitor facility activity, enforce rules, and maintain clear communication with staff and visitors. As a Security Officer 1, you will perform the following duties:
- Patrol Duties: Patrol hospital buildings and grounds by vehicle or foot to identify safety issues
- Alarm Response: React to fire, smoke, and intrusion alarms and take appropriate actions
- Traffic Control: Manage parking and vehicle movement according to policy
- Search Assistance: Participate in searches for missing patients and operate closed-circuit television monitoring equipment when necessary
- Report Writing: Document incidents, maintain logs, and review communications at the start of each shift
- Visitor Processing: Check identification, assist visitors, and provide non-confidential information at the desk
Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours will be determined from the following shifts or a floating shift. Employees will work any five days within a consecutive seven calendar day period with regularly scheduled days off to include every third weekend. There is no unpaid lunch break included in a shift.
- 1st shift: 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- 2nd shift: 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM
- 3rd shift: 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM
This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
