Summary
To support the National Marine Service Office of Protected Resources, a Marine Mammal Protection Specialist will provide part-time telecommuting assistance in reviewing and processing incidental take authorization requests under the Marine Mammal Protection Act, focusing on efficient project reviews and compliance with environmental regulations.Key responsibilitiesAssist in the review and processing of incidental take authorization requests and related environmental complianceConduct analyses, draft supporting documents, and implement tracking mechanisms for project documentationOrganize Federal records and support Freedom of Information Act requests and litigation-related documentationRequired qualificationsBachelor of Science degree in a relevant field and 3 years of relevant experience, with education beyond the Bachelor's degree substitutable for experienceDocumented evidence of experience in environmental regulations and the Federal regulatory process or related fieldsPreferred experience in reviewing impacts of energy and infrastructure projects on marine mammalsStrong technical writing and communication skillsAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
