The Job

The Innovation and Technology Department is recruiting for an Innovation and Technology Parts Specialist I* who receive, store, locate, and issue parts in the warehouse operations for the Telecommunications Division. Duties may include: researching and contacting vendors to locate parts; maintaining computerized inventory systems and determining stock levels; and assisting communications technicians and other staff to determine exact parts needed.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Pre-Employment Process: Incumbents must pass a background investigation, which includes fingerprinting, work history & education check, as well as a job-related physical exam and drug screening.

Physical: Position requires the ability to stoop, kneel, bend, and work above the shoulder; must be able to move and lift up to 75 pounds. Employees work outside occasionally and are exposed to electricity, chemicals, heat, oil, odors, dust, gas, and noise.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.

Availability: Incumbents are subject to 24-hour call backs to support operational emergencies.

Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is unable to consider candidates who require Visa Sponsorship at this time or in the future. Candidates must be able to present their legal work in the United States.

Minimum Requirements

Candidates MUST meet one (1) of the experience options in order to qualify.

EXPERIENCE OPTION 1: One (1) year of experience working in a warehouse environment receiving, storing, inventorying, and issuing electronic and/or telecommunication related parts.
EXPERIENCE OPTION 2: Four (4) years of experience in a warehouse environment purchasing equipment. Experience must include primary responsibility for researching parts, costs, delivery methods, stocking and retrieving inventory, and maintaining tracking of parts inventory.
