Description
This position assists with the food preparation to assist the Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC) with carrying out the mission of the Senior Nutrition Program’s congregate and home delivered meals for older adults.
This position works Part-time: 2-3 days per week, 5:30a-10:30a (hours may vary slightly).Assists with packaging individual meals and food items for home delivered meals and packaging bulk food for dining sites; ensure Meals on Wheels drivers receive in a timely manner. Maintains compliance with food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures; reports unsafe conditions, hazardous equipment or accidents immediately. Maintains food storage, work areas, and associated spaces in a clean and safe condition according to established policies and procedures. Washes and sanitizes dishes, counters, and kitchen equipment assuring Health Department standards of sanitation and safety are met at all times. Routinely cleans, steamtables, refrigerator, freezer, floors, packaging equipment, carts, workspace, etc. Maintains orderly and safe storage of food and supplies. Attends required staff meetings and trainings. Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma/equivalent
- Previous cooking or food prep experience in a high-volume food service setting preferred.
- Must successfully pass caregiver and criminal background check.
- Ability to understand and follow Wisconsin Food Code and Health Department rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of quality food preparation, storage, sanitation, and equipment safety.
- Ability to follow recipes.
- Ability to safely operate and be able to train others on the operation of various kitchen equipment.
- Ability to train new employees as requested.
- Knowledge of administrative policies and procedures of the County.
- Ability to interpret and implement local policies and procedures; written instructions, general correspondence; Federal,State, and local regulations.
- Skill in organizational and time management to prioritize duties to accomplish a high volume of work product while adapting to constant changes in priority.
- Ability to perform detailed work accurately and independently in compliance with stringent time limits with minimal direction and supervision.
- Ability to think quickly, maintain self-control, and adapt to stressful situations.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations required of this position.
