The Job

The Department of Aging and Adult Services - Office of the Public Guardianis recruiting for a Community Wellness and Housing Coordinator*. This position will supervise operations and projects including Pacific Village, while serving as a liaison with County departments and divisions. Pacific Village is a campus-style program that provides supportive housing along with on-site medical care, mental health services, and substance use treatment for individuals experiencing homelessness. It uses a wraparound services approach to help residents stabilize, recover, and transition toward long-term independence. A current vacancy exists in San Bernardino.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Travel : Travel throughout the County is required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation. A valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation.

Sponsorship : Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants may qualify under Option A or Option B, but must meet both of the education and experience requirements within that option:

OPTION A
EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter units) of completed college coursework from an accredited college or university half of which must be upper division, business/public administration, behavioral/social science, psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education or closely related field.

-AND-

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full time equivalent project management experience in which the primary responsibility includes oversight and coordination of projects (e.g. facilitate and monitor program objectives and budget, initiate, develop and write grants, research and data analytics for project needs including overall project evaluation) in a Human Services or related field.

OPTION B EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree in business/public administration, behavioral/social science, psychology, sociology, social services, human services, education or closely related field.

-AND-

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of full time equivalent project management experience in which the primary responsibility includes oversight and coordination of projects (e.g. facilitate and monitor program objectives and budget, initiate, develop and write grants, research and data analytics for project needs including overall project evaluation) in a Human Services or related field.

PMP Certificate Substitution: Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI) may substitute for the degree under Option B.
Note: Qualifying degree or coursework must have been completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. Degrees or coursework completed outside the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service showing equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by any accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Desired Qualifications

The ideal candidate is a results-driven project management professional with a bachelor’s degree in Business or Public Administration and experience leading public sector projects of varying scope and complexity. Ideal candidates will have a proven ability to manage project portfolios, provide guidance to multiple project teams, analyze data to inform decision-making, and communicate effectively with leadership to advance organizational goals.
