We are seeking a knowledgeable and service-oriented Risk Analyst to support the City’s Workers’ Compensation Program. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring effective claims management, regulatory compliance, and timely coordination among departments, the City’s Third Party Administrator (TPA), and other external partners. The Risk Analyst serves as the primary liaison for assigned departments, offering technical guidance, oversight, and analytical support to Department Workers’ Compensation Representatives (DWCRs).

The purpose of this position is to support the City’s Risk Management program with a primary focus on the oversight and administration of the Workers’ Compensation Program and Third Party Administrator (TPA). This includes monitoring TPA performance, ensuring compliance with Texas Workers’ Compensation laws and City policies, performing analytical functions such as interpreting loss runs and claims data, and identifying trends that inform decision making. The position also serves as a key liaison between departments, the TPA, and medical management partners while supporting broader citywide risk management initiatives and strategies.

In this role, you will evaluate claim activity, monitor TPA performance, identify trends in loss data, and help drive interventions that reduce injury frequency, claim severity, and overall program costs. You will also provide training, facilitate claim review meetings, and support departments in navigating complex case management issues.

Salary Range: $71,630.00 - $90,980.00 annually (Midpoint)

Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday.
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Hours may vary due to operational needs. An alternative schedule and remote work/teleworking options are available, but position requires a minimum of 40% per week in office standard.

Driving Requirement:

If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
