About the Department

The Office of Retirement Services (ORS) is seeking an individual whose values align with the values of the City's employees.

The mission of the ORS is to provide quality services in the delivery of pension and related benefits and maintain financially sound pension plans.

ORS oversees the investment of assets and administers the benefits of the two Defined Benefit Retirement Plans for City of San Jose employees. The assets of the two plans total over $9.8 billion. As of June 30, 2025, there were over 7,411 retirees and beneficiaries, and over 8,620 actives, inactive and deferred vested members in the two retirement plans. Each of the retirement plans has a Board of Administration that has fiduciary responsibility over their respective retirement plan. ORS has a total of about 45 positions spread among five different work unit within the office: Investments, Benefits, Accounting, Information Technology, and Administration.

Position Duties

The salary range for the Information Systems Analyst Classification is:

$141,894.48 - $172,885.44 Annually

This salary range(s) includes an approximate five percent (5%) ongoing non-pensionable compensation. Actual salary shall be determined by the final candidates’ qualifications and experience.

The Office of Retirement Services is seeking one (1) full-time Information Systems Analyst to join its Information Technology Group. As an Information Systems Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting, maintaining, and enhancing the Office’s IT systems and pension administration systems. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

IT Operations & Enterprise Systems Administration

Pension Administration Systems & Data Operations

Policy, Governance & Compliance

Professional Development & Organizational Effectiveness


Minimum Qualifications

Education
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field,.

Experience
Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional/journey level experience, of which at least two (2) years of experience include lead technical work in development, implementation and maintenance of computer systems, or application development and/or support.
