Position DescriptionThe Department of Family and Community Medicine provides high quality health care and educational experiences. Working as a team of healthcare providers and educators, we advance a unique model of patient care characterized by comprehensive and integrated care of the whole person over time, tailored to the individual's values and choices care of all ages, socio-economic statuses, ethnicity's, health statuses, and genders. We focus on wellness and prevention collaborations that are based on active and open communication and provide high quality care.
Rank of Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor and applicable salary are dependent upon candidate's qualifications and experience.
Major/Essential Functions- Provide comprehensive medical care as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Manage complex symptoms in patients with serious, life-limiting or chronic diseases.
- Facilitate goals-of-care discussions & conduct family meetings.
- Provide inpatient and outpatient palliative care services.
- Participate in the training and education of students, residents and fellows.
Occasional Duties
Required Qualifications- MD, DO or MBBS.
- Completion of the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 3.
- Completion of, or in the process of completing, an ACGME Residency.
- Completed, or in the process of completing, a Fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine training to become board eligible.
