The award-winning Marin County Fair is the County’s premier community event with over 90,000 attendees annually. Held annually over the 4th of July holiday, fairgoers enjoy five days of art, rides, concerts, fair food delights, shopping and so much more.

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Department of Cultural Services is looking for Utility Staff to work at the upcoming Marin County Fair-July 1st - 5th, 2026. There are multiple contingent hire (temporary-fair only) positions.

This contingent (temporary) position performs a variety of physical labor tasks necessary to accommodate events scheduled both indoors and outdoors at Marin Center facilities and fairgrounds. Marin Center Utility Worker duties include:

Hours: Flexible schedule: Sunday - Saturday early morning and evenings. Shift hours may range from 4-8 hours a day and are based on operational need.

Must be able to work the 2026 Marin County Fair, July 1st -5th the set-up June 1st - July 1st AND the tear-down July 6th - 17th.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSES

Equivalent to one year of full-time custodial experience or two years of part-time work as a custodial or extra-hire utility worker, under qualified supervision, which provides the following knowledge and ability requirements.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Work schedules include weekends and evenings at Marin Center facilities.

The compensation for this position is $34.98 per hour, corresponding to Step 5 of the Marin Center Utility Worker classification (Job Code: 1132).
