Position DescriptionThe Enterprise Network Engineer II's scope of responsibility includes providing primary support for the operation of enterprise-level technology used by enterprise-wide mission-critical systems and infrastructure. This position may also assist with training team members and managing technical projects. Discretion and sound judgment is expected. Enterprise positions are restricted for use in central IT Division areas reporting to the institutional CIO and, as such, may interface with key IT leadership and/or other functional leadership from Texas Tech University System institutions.
Major/Essential Functions- Maintain, support & install TTUHSC Network, audio-visual, and conferencing infrastructure
- Facilitates AV/IT projects on the Midland or Odessa Campus
- Maintain Technical Skills and knowledge
- Configure & maintain all network and AV equipment and related servers
- Detect & diagnose telecommunication systems and component malfunctions/failures, and work with service providers to ensure timely service restorations
- Prototyping, testing, and certifying communication processes and services
- Position will require a strong ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives
- Exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with fellow employees, HSC staff and students
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related areas plus one (1) year related full-time paid experience.
- OR a combination of related education and/or experience to equal five (5) years.
