Successful candidates will be placed on the eligible list for employment consideration for at least six months.Representative Duties:Assists in budget preparation and administration;Assists with the acquisition of supplies, materials, and services for department;Assists in development and revision of administrative policies and procedures;Assists with specialized administrative problems including staffing requirements and equipment usage levels;Prepares administrative analyses, studies, and research projects regarding City and departmental practices, procedures and operations;Prepares detailed statistical analyses, charts, and graphs and makes written or oral presentations of gathered data;Prepares purchase requisitions and maintains purchasing files;Prepares manuals, departmental correspondence, and various informational surveys;Designs and revises forms;Researches and prepares grant applications and administers grants;Serves as liaison for the department in its contacts with other City departments, agencies, outside vendors, or community groups;May assume supervisory responsibility over departmental clerical staff;May request legal opinions.Education:Equivalent to at least a Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.Experience:At least one year administrative staff experience in a municipal government setting.
